Our teachers here at Rock the Block Dance are very qualified, friendly and happy. Our teachers push each student to their fullest potential so that each student is getting the most out of each class. It is very important to us that our teachers play a pivotal role in your child’s life as a student at Rock the Block Dance, with our teachers being good role models and people your children can aspire to. We love that our students come into our classroom with excitement and eagerness to learn every week.

Miss Robyn – Principal

FullSizeRenderRobyn Parras is the Principal of Rock the Block Dance. She has had training in RAD Ballet, ISTD Tap, Modern and Jazz and BAL tap and GWT Tap. Robyn also has her Diploma in Childcare Services (0-12 years) and has completed a 4-year degree at university to gain a Bachelor of Primary Education at the Australian Catholic University. Robyn also holds a certificate 3 in fitness instructing.

Miss Robyn currently teaches Cheerleading, Glenn Wood Tap, Hip Hop, Jazz, Eisteddfod Troupes, tiny tots amongst many others.

Robyn is also the manager and choreographer of the official Sydney Roosters Cheer squad as well as the junior squad while choreographing and directing many dance spectaculars, shows and concerts.

Dancing from the age of 3, Robyn’s credentials as a professional dancer exceed a long list of performances and dancing jobs that include:

  • 2004 till 2010 – NRL Bulldogs Cheerleader
  • 2005 NBL Wollongong Hawks Cheerleader
  • 2006/2007 NBL Razorbacks Cheerleader
  • Toured Australia with the Channel Ten “So You Think You Can Dance” national tour as a dancer
  • Danced for Disney on Ice
  • Danced on Channel 9 Hit Show “The Footy Show”
  • Danced at the “High School Musical 3” Australian Movie Premier in Sydney
  • Was a dancer and actor for television commercial with “Click “
  • Choreographer and manager for the Sydney Roosters NRL Cheer squads 2010-current.

Robyn is extremely passionate about her students. She thrives in teaching every single student as an individual and helping them reach their fullest potential in both dance and also within themselves to bring out positive self confidence. Robyn believes every child is unique and is capable of anything they put their mind to with positive encourage in our fun, friendly, safe and family orientated studio.

Miss Corrina has been dancing for 16 years and teaching for 4. Corrina has completed exams in RAD ballet to an advanced level with distinctions through all grades as well as BAL tap and Glenwood tap receiving gold awards for all levels. She has competed to acclaim in competitions in Sydney and Queensland and has travelled internationally to Europe for dance workshops and New Zealand for national titles in Line Dancing. Miss Corrina has taught all ages from tiny tots through to seniors in various styles. As a university student, miss Corrina is due to complete her bachelor of Medical Science with a major in Anatomy and Physiology mid 2017. Due to extended education, miss Corrina is knowledgable in biomechanics of the body and is a firm believer in safe dance practice. As a graduate of the Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies in 2016, miss Corrina is a registered RAD ballet teacher and hopes to pass on her knowledge and love of dance to her students in the future.


Miss Christie

Christie Anderson has been dance training at Rock the Block Dance since it was founded in 2008. Christie has been training in the area ‘s of GWT Tap, RAD Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, cheerleading, Musial Theatre, Singing, contemporary, lyrical and has also been part of the Rock the Block Dance Eisteddfod troupes.

Christie has had many performance opportunities such as performing as junior squad member for the Sydney Rooters Cheer Squad, performing at the Sydney Royal Easter show in street parade and on many different stages throughout the show. Christie also likes to support local community events by performing at school fetes.

In 2014, Christie toured LA with the Rock the Block Dance LA tour an took part in many performances and workshops throughout LA including Jazz and Hip Hop workshops at the well known “The Edge”
Performing Arts Centre, Lyrical workshops at the world renowned “Millennium Dance Studio”. Christie also took workshops at the prestigious “Disney Performing Arts Centre” and performed on the Thunder Ranch stage In Disneyland.

Christie is currently undergoing her HSC at Elderslie High School, where she will complete her study at the end of 2014. Christie wishes to go to university and become a PD/H/PE and dance teacher.

Christie’s favorite thing to teach is cheerleading, tap and hip hop. Christie really loves teaching Dance and is looking forward to being part of the Rock the Block Dance staff and teaching all our beautiful, fantastic and super talented students.

Miss Stephanie



Stephanie Di Coio is a young Australian dancer from Sydney. She is now 19 years of age and has trained at Dorothy Cowie School of Dancing since the young age of 4 and completed a year of full time at Ev and Bow full time dance training centre. Stephanie has loved learning performing and teaching all styles of dancing, particularly Classical Ballet and Contemporary.

As a dancer Stephanie has many achievements such as touring the USA performing at Universal Studios, Disneyland and on the Navigator Of The Seas Royal Caribbean cruise ship. Stephanie holds Australasian titles in Ballet Tap and Jazz and was the winner of the David Atkins award in 2013.

Stephanie is currently the ballerina on the SYTYCD Australia commercial and has appeared in other commercials such as The Australian tvc and Stan Walkers take it easy campaign. 

Stephanie plans to continue to grow as a dancer and share her passion of dance with dancers of the future.



sir-jacobJacob is a highly experienced Acrobatics and Tumbling Instructor who is credentialed through Acrobatic Arts for levels 1-6. He started his training at Static Dance Studios in 2007 and was a seasoned competitor in acrobatics eisteddfods for both troupes and solos. His teaching career started in 2011, sharing his knowledge and skills with an enthusiastic attitude.

To consolidate on his Acrobatics experience, in 2016 Jacob was part of a Level 3 Cheerleading Team, competing in 4 Cheerleading competitions throughout 2016’s season. In 2017, he will be getting his levels 1 & 2 Cheerleading Credentials to help further his own expertise.

Jacob is currently studying a Bachelor of Primary Education at the University of Notre Dame, which will be completed in mid-2017, qualifying him to be a Kindergarten to Year 6 Primary School Teacher.



Miss Oliveah

Miss Oliveah

Oliveah is 24 years old and has countless competitive titles as a dancer and cheerleader across her 13 years experience. She began dancing at the age of eight at Instyle Academy before moving to Bradshaw Dance and Cheer in 2008, to further her technique and performance opportunity. In 2011, Oliveah became the very first Australian female dancer to medal at the International Cheer Union in jazz doubles. She went on to compete again in 2013 with the Australian jazz team, winning bronze just behind the USA and Japan. More success came her way when she and the Australian representative team placed 3rd at the Dance World Championships in Florida, making her a 4x bronze medallist to date. She has represented Australia in all three genres, jazz, hip-hop and cheer.

Apart from international success, Oliveah has accumulated more than 20 state and national titles in jazz, hip hop and cheerleading and is training to compete again at the world championships in April 2015!

Oliveah joined the Sydney Roosters Cheer Squad in 2014 and is now teaching for Miss Robyn at Rock the Block Dance.

Shane Cook


Shane Cook has trained at Glenda Benton Academy of Dance 1999- 2006, Brent Street Studios Fulltime Course 2007 and Jazz Du Funk International Company Shanghai 2007 – 2008.

Shane’s performances as a professional dancer include:

Shane has appeared in many TV commercials as well as joined many stars on different dance tours around the world.


Miss Brittany


Miss Britt has been dancing for 18 years and teaching for 6. She has experience in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Acrobatics, Musical Theatre and Drama. Britt enjoys taking stretch, fitness and adult classes and has grown in versatility over the years. She has obtained distinctions in all RAD ballet exams as well as Jazz and Modern examinations. She has placed highly at many competitions including City of Wollongong, City of Sydney and local eisteddfods and fates also. In later years Britt also had many solo students and troupes competing in these eisteddfods receiving amazing results.

Britt has danced under the influence of The Australian Ballet, Sydney Dance Company and the Bolshoi Ballet which is where her knowledge has stemmed from. She has also had the guidance of So You Think You Can Dance dancers and RAD certified teachers as well as completed workshops all over Sydney by different company directors. In 2009, Britt auditioned for the ABC TV series ‘Dance Academy’ and reached the final 3 for the lead role.

Britt has also had training with children with special needs and with behavioural problems. She is currently studying at the University of Western Sydney her degree Bachelor of Psychology. She cannot wait to become a member of the Rock the Block staff and is excited to pass on all her dance experience to the students.
